Dr. Maust is an Associate Professor in the department of Psychiatry at the U-M Medical school. He also serves on IHPI’s Early Career Faculty Advisory Council (ECFAC).

Research Interests

Dr. Maust is a geriatric psychiatrist interested in safe prescribing to older adults, specifically focusing on benzodiazepines and CNS-active polypharmacy (e.g., benzodiazepines and opioids or other CNS-depressants).

Dr. Maust's projects include:
- Overdose and Fall Risk Concentration among Benzodiazepine Users
- The Effect of a Prescription Drug Coverage Policy on Risk of Falls and Overdose in Older Adults
