Dr. McAfee is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Michigan.

Research Interests

Dr. McAfee's primary research involves the use of both qualitative and quantitative methods to better understand how to address opioid cessation in patients with chronic pain taking opioids. The long term goal is to develop patient centered opioid cessation interventions for chronic pain patients.

Additionally, she is involved in several projects related to pre and post-operative opioid use, with the goal of reducing opioid use prior to surgical interventions and preventing new opioid use following surgeries.
