Opioid and Over-the Counter Analgesic Use and Knowledge among Adolescents and Young Adults: A Community Based Survey
This multidisciplinary project will evaluate everyday opioid and analgesic use and knowledge in a population of adolescents and young adults – a group at high risk for analgesic misuse. Of primary interest is what this group understands about the risks of analgesics, and how they obtain prescription drug risk information. As children transition to self-health management, it is imperative to understand how much they understand about prescription analgesic risk. This information will inform future interventions aimed at reducing analgesic knowledge deficits among this high risk group.
