Opioid Harm Reduction and Treatment Quality in Acute Care


The specific aims of this project are: 1) To reduce opioid-related morbidity and mortality by increasing the distribution of ED point-of-care naloxone to patients presenting with overdose and those at high-risk for future opioid overdose; 2) To coordinate hospital and community interprofessional networks—including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, peer counselors, and MAT and psychosocial treatment providers focused on integrating the acute and longitudinal care of patients with opioid use disorders to ensure safe and quality treatment.
