The Relationship between Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Provider Supply and Opioid-Related Overdose Mortality

This geospatial mapping research project seeks to assess the geographical correlation between opioid-related overdose mortality and opioid addiction treatment provider supply and provision. We will seek to answer, using publicly available datasets, the following questions: (1) is opioid overdose mortality correlated with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and other addiction treatment provider supply? (2) is the growth in the number of addiction treatment providers associated with lower opioid-related overdose mortality over time at the county level?
