Dr. Flagel is a Professor of Psychiatry, as well as a Research Professor and Co-Director of the Molecular & Behavioral Neuroscience Institute. She is an Associate Member of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology and a Kavli National Academy of Sciences Fellow.
Her research focuses on understanding the behavioral and neurobiological factors that contribute to individual differences in reward learning and susceptibility to addiction. She is specifically interested in the psychological mechanisms that underlie and influence appetitive Pavlovian learning and the neural circuitry involved in these processes.
