The institute also focuses on improving collaboration with key stakeholders, supporting evidence-based strategies, having critical community conversations and taking informed action to save lives in Michigan and across the U.S.
To achieve these goals, ORI has established three Research Domains:
Research and Data
The Research and Data domain provides support to researchers seeking to better understand and explore data sets, at U-M and elsewhere, to assist in opioid related research. Team members offer support with data analytics and visualizations for grant applications and or research projects and assistance with opioid related content for research grant applications.
Community Engagement
The Community Engagement Domain brings together disciplines from across U-M’s three campuses and collaborates with communities across Michigan. Team members engage with student groups, community partners and government agencies at all levels to ensure a multi-faceted approach to addressing the opioid crisis.
Training and Education
The Training and Education Domain provides resources and support for trainees and faculty. Team members are focused on building the next generation of opioid researchers by strengthening educational opportunities.
