Charles Shipan, PhD

Chuck Shipan is the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Professor of Social Science, with appointments in Political Science and at the Ford School of Public Policy. His research focuses primarily on the role of political institutions in creating public policies. In addition to researching the politics of opioid policies, he has also written about a range of other public health topics, including nursing home regulation, anti-smoking laws, Medicaid, the FDA, and expert consensus panels.
