Dr. Krein is a Research Health Scientist/Research Career Scientist with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Ann Arbor Healthcare System Center for Clinical Management Research. She is also a Research Professor of Internal Medicine, with an adjunct appointment in the School of Nursing, and the Rensis Likert Collegiate Professor at the University of Michigan. She has a clinical background in nursing and a PhD in Health Services Research.
During her more than 20 years as a research scientist, Dr. Krein has been involved in research funded by the VA, NIH, AHRQ and CDC, to enhance patient safety as well as studies focusing on the management of complex chronic conditions, such as chronic pain.
