Dr. Stoddard is a public health nurse and preventionist whose research aims to improve our understanding of how social conditions during childhood and adolescence impact adolescent health and well-being including substance use and violence, and opportunities for prevention. She has expertise in working with community partners on evidence-based behavioral and ecological approaches for the prevention of youth violence and substance use. She serves as an appointed member of the Michigan Legislative Council Opioid Advisory Commission and as an appointed member of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Community Preventive Services Task Force.
