Stephan Taylor is the Albert J. Silverman MD CM Research Professor of Psychiatric Disorders, Professor of Psychiatry and adjunct Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan. He has a B.A. from Northwestern University and an M.D. from the Washington University School of Medicine.
His work focuses on psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder) and he uses brain mapping and brain stimulation technologies to understand and treat the pathophysiology of these conditions. He directs the Program for Risk Evaluation and Prevention (PREP), designed to identify youth at risk of serious mental illness such as schizophrenia and conduct research into the early stages of psychosis.
He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, and serves on several journal editorial boards, as well as numerous NIH review panels and advisory boards.
