Biography

Dr. Walton is a Professor in the department of Psychiatry. She is also the Associate Director of the U-M Injury Prevention Center and Associate Chair for Child Research at the Addiction Center.

Research Interests

Dr. Walton is interested in substance use prevention and early intervention among adolescents and emerging adults, including prescription opioids. Two recent projects (Project Chill; Project U Connect) showed secondary effects on reducing prescription opioids.

In an ongoing alcohol intervention study, secondary outcomes on other drugs, including prescription opioids, will be examined.
