Prescription opioid abuse is a serious and growing problem.
On Tuesday, August 28th, over 200 University of Michigan Pharmacy students will participate in the Pharmacy Community Connect Day aimed at preventing opioid abuse in Washtenaw County. Students will be at 35 community pharmacy sites (e.g., CVS, Rite Aid, Kroger), educating the public on safe opioid use, storage, and disposal. Students will also educate the public on recognizing the signs of opioid abuse, and they will provide resources for getting help as well as the opioid overdose reversal aid Naloxone.
