Dr. Chin Hwa (Gina) Dahlem, clinical assistant professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, Core Faculty Member of the U-M Injury Prevention Center, and U-M Opioid Solutions Member has been recognized by U-M President Mark Schlissel as a U-M expert helping our communities in our state confront critical health and environmental challenges in an edition of Michigan Impact. Dr. Dahlem has been highlighted for her impact in the field of opioid overdose prevention.

Dr. Dahlem, also a nurse practitioner, has developed a training program in administering naloxone, the antidote that reverses opioid overdoses that she has delivered to shelters, police departments, community agencies, schools, and members of the public in Southeastern Michigan. Dr. Dahlem has reached more than 1,700 employees with her training program and delivered as many naloxone kits.
